Get your calendars out and mark the dates October 29th & 30th when SUP Racing will take the San Francisco Bay by storm in the inaugural Battle Of The Bay SUP Race & Expo.
And with a $5,000 cash purse on the line expect some of the world's top SUP paddlers to be battling it out for top honors.

The explosion in popularity of Stand Up Paddling has infected the San Francisco Bay in a big way and now the local paddling fleet is calling all paddlers to join them in the celebration of paddling in one of the world's most iconic bodies of water the San Francisco Bay.
The Battle of the Bay will feature SUP racing amidst the most some of the most storied paddling waters found on the planet just off San Francisco Bay in Sausalito Califrornia's Richardson Bay. The racing action will feature both Elite and Amateur classes racing on long and short courses respectively with divisions for men and women in the 12'6", 14' ft, and Unlimited board lengths. In addition the organizers have announced a Kahuna Division for riders exceeding 210lbs and to show the big guys proper respect a cash purse will be on the line. To be eligible for the Kahuna division riders must paddle a 12'6" board.
The Courses are not yet finalized but expect some iconic scenery as you paddle with San Francisco's majestic City Front Sky line as a back drop. This is no ordinary circuit course and test events will be held prior to the big day to ensure a challenging route that will test both skill and endurance alike.
Racing will take place October 30th however The Battle of the Bay is much more than just a racing event with a full-fledged SUP Manufacturers exposition running the day prior on October 29th. On top of that family fun will be a focus of the event with a Kid's SUP racing and due to the proximity to Halloween an on the water costume parade all of which will feature prizes and awards for the competitors. After racing concludes on Sunday weary paddlers will then be treated to gala celebration & awards presentation at the West Coast's most prestigious yacht club the St. Francis Yacht club.
